MEET TERRY.
TERRY WATERS KNOWS THE VALUE OF HARD WORK – BECAUSE HE’S LIVED IT.
Terry Waters is a lifelong South Alabama resident, farmer, veteran, and small business owner who believes in hard work, faith, and common sense. He was raised on a family farm in Robertsdale by his parents, Donnie and Norma Waters, alongside his brothers. Growing up, Terry learned early that no one is entitled to anything and that success comes from working hard and doing what’s right.
Farming has always been a way of life for Terry. His family worked the land together, growing crops and raising livestock, and later built a nursery business from the ground up. What started as a small operation grew into a successful, multi-generation family business, something Terry takes great pride in. Today, his son serves as the nursery’s general manager, allowing Terry the opportunity to step forward and serve his community.

SHORTLY AFTER GRADUATING FROM ROBERTSDALE HIGH SCHOOL, TERRY MADE THE DECISION TO SERVE OUR NATION AND JOINED THE UNITED STATES ARMY. HE SERVED BOTH ON ACTIVE DUTY AND IN THE GUARD, INCLUDING TIME STATIONED IN GERMANY DURING THE FALL OF THE BERLIN WALL.
Seeing socialism firsthand shaped Terry’s strong belief in freedom, personal responsibility, and limited government. After completing his service, he returned home to continue farming, raise a family, and invest in the community that raised him.
Terry has been married to his wife, Anita, for nearly four decades. Together, they've raised two children and are now proud grandparents. Family, faith, and community are central to who Terry is and guide how he approaches every decision.
As a first-time candidate for State Senate District 22, Terry is running to be a voice for everyday people, farmers, veterans, small business owners, and families, not special interests or career politicians. He believes Alabama is strongest when the government stays small, values are protected, and decisions are made with common sense and respect for the people being served.
